For our colleague Prof. Christiana Kouta (+ 25.03.2023)

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our colleague Prof. Christiana Kouta.

Christiana was a founding member of the European Observatory on Femicide (EOF) and had been its co-coordinator for the past three years. She was an amazing colleague to us all and will be sorely missed. While we are filled with the sadness of her passing, we are thankful for having had the opportunity to work alongside such a strong and brave woman for many years. She was a unifying force and always ready to look for, and find solutions and ways forward. Her commitment to fighting femicide and violence against women shone through all her actions. Christiana had a strong sense of social justice that imbued her work and her research. We will miss you!

We have lost an irreplaceable star, and we are bereft. May your spirit stay with us. You will always remain in our hearts and with your energy in our team.
