Currently, the European Observatory on Femicide (EOF) consists of research focal points in the following countries:<\/p>\n

EOF Country Observatories<\/h2>\n

Georgian Observatory on Femicide<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n

This platform is established by the Georgian Institute of Public Affairs, in cooperation with the NGOs and journalists within the project \u201cTracking Violent Crime against Women\u201d, implemented in 2016-2019 and supported by the EU NEARBY. Within the framework of the project, a database was created, in which the crime trends are described with accuracy. The website allows citizens to publicly or anonymously leave a message about the crime. Articles about the crimes committed across the Georgia , Armenia and Azerbaijan are published every year by the students of GIPA during the advanced reporting and writing classes conducted by Professor Tina Tsomaia. The platform is coordinated by the council of researchers that was established in July 2020, following the development of The European Observatory on Femicide (EOF), a research and advocacy initiative on prevention of gender-related killings of women that formed country research groups, including Georgia.<\/p>\n

Greek Observatory on Femicide<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n

In November 2021 the Greek country focal point launched the <\/span>Greek Observatory on Femicide<\/b><\/span> in order to record and populate the quantitative and qualitative data in Greece and to post news\/announcements around the issue of femicide, with the lead of Dr Athena Peglidou. Israel Observatory on Femicide<\/b><\/h3>\n

In November 2020, t<\/span>he Israel Observatory on Femicide<\/b> was established by Prof. Shalva Weil under the Hebrew University of Jerusalem.\u00a0The purpose of the Observatory is to collect and monitor data and narratives about the murder of women, both quantitative and qualitative, and provide means for building an ongoing knowledge base to eradicate the phenomenon. Malta Observatory on Femicide <\/b><\/h3>\n

In December 2021 the Malta Observatory on Femicide<\/b> was<\/span> launched by the Women\u2019s Rights Foundation in collaboration with the Commission on Gender-Based Violence and Domestic Violence, and the contribution of Dr Marceline Naudi. It seeks to raise awareness, collect data on femicide in Malta and provide key information on issues related to it, with the aim of informing and strengthening policy development and implementation. It will also act as a repository for research and studies, including the creation of domestic homicide reviews whilst bringing together academics and stakeholders working in the field.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
